The short version: I collect what I need to build your piece and get it to you, and nothing else. I never share your details with anyone outside this shop, there isn't a single cookie on this website, and I don't track you. I may email you now and then about new work — and one reply stops it for good.
I'm Harley Ritchie. I build red cedar swings, feeders, birdhouses, engraved signs and custom furniture by hand in Owingsville, Kentucky, trading as Harley's Handmade, LLC. This website is mine, and I'm the person who reads what you send.

The contact form asks for your name, your email, your phone number if you want to give it, what you're after, and any details or dates you tell me. If you draw something on the sketch pad, that drawing comes with it. If you send an order from the cart, the list of what you picked comes with it.
I use that to answer you, price the work, build the piece and get it to you. That's all.
There's a place on the shop page to leave your email so I can tell you when something new comes off the bench. That one is entirely your choice — nothing signs you up automatically.
And plainly, because you should hear it from me rather than work it out later: if you give me your email anywhere on this site — the signup, an order, the cart, the contact form — I may also use it to email you about my own work — a new piece, a batch just off the bench, or a deal I'm running. That is the only thing I'll ever email you for, and it only ever comes from me. Not often, and never a daily thing — I'm one man in a shop, not a mailing machine.
Every one of those has a way out, and one word does it. Reply and say stop, or write to harley@harleyshandmadeky.com, and you're off it. No form, no logging in, no waiting. I'll take you off within a few days at the very outside, and it doesn't touch an order you've already placed — I'll still write to you about that.

If you've picked something out but aren't ready, you can leave me your email and I'll hold it and answer questions. That address is for that conversation first — and, as above, it may also get the occasional note about new work. I won't pester you, and one reply takes you off.
A few things are saved by your own browser, on your own device, and are never sent to me or to anyone else:
You can wipe all of it by clearing your browser's site data. Nothing breaks if you do.
I'm one person in a shop, so a few services do jobs I can't do myself. They only get what's needed for their part:
Nobody on that list is given your details for their own marketing.
Order and enquiry emails I keep as long as I need them for the job, my records and my taxes. Mailing-list addresses I keep until you tell me to stop. Ask me to delete something and I will — email or call and say so.
No process and no forms. Just ask me and I'll do it.
This is a woodworking shop, not a site aimed at children, and I don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If that's happened by accident, tell me and I'll delete it.
If I start doing something new with your details, this page gets updated and the date at the top changes. I'm not going to quietly widen it.
